A very brief introduction to the main components and beliefs of the person-centred approach
I have recently taken a lot of learning from the Dalai Lama’s teachings and couldn’t help but notice a strong link to Counselling. I think one thing that we would all agree with is the universal desire of more happiness in our lives and the absence of suffering as much as possible.
In this article, I hope to tackle the on-going trend of integration and pluralism across many different approaches to Counselling. I focus particularly on the Person-Centred Approach (PCA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as this appears to be the most common pairing and, in my opinion, mismatch.
